Townhouse and Leitzell Suite Selection

Hartwick College has both 4-person Townhouses and 4-person Leitzell suites to offer students another type of on-campus living. The Townhouse and Leitzell suite selection process utilizes the same housing point system as the General Room Selection Process with one exception. That exception is that the Townhouse and Leitzell suite selection uses all four members housing points to rank the groups. This process is also seniority based. For more information and important dates please see  the main Residential life and Housing page.

  • Only groups with 4 current students will be considered for ranking.
  • Students who will be graduating before the end of the next academic year (end of the Fall term or end of January term) cannot sign up for a four person Townhouse or Leitzell suite.
  • Students who will be studying abroad in the fall or spring terms cannot sign up for a four person Townhouse or Leitzell suite.
  • No squatting of Townhouses or Leitzell suites.
  • Townhouses are available as a coed housing option.
  • Leitzell suites are all single gender suites only.
  • A single student cannot be on more than one form. Students found on more than one form will be asked to pick the group he/she wants to be with prior to the posting of the rankings. The group(s) that is without four students will then be giving 24 hours to find a replacement for the group or will forfeit their group.
  • Groups will be ranked as follows:
    • All seniors first, plus average of individual points
    • 3 seniors and 1 junior, plus average of individual points
    • 2 seniors and 2 juniors, plus average of individual points
    • 1 senior and 3 juniors, plus average of individual points
    • 1 senior, 2 juniors and 1 sophomore, plus average of individual points
    • 1 senior, 1 junior and 2 sophomores, plus average of individual points
    • 4 juniors, plus average of individual points
    • 3 juniors and 1 sophomore, plus average of individual points
    • 2 juniors and 2 sophomores, plus average of individual points
    • 1 junior and 3 sophomores, plus average individual points
    • 4 sophomores, plus average individual points
  • If a group member decides not to live with the group after they have signed into the space, the remaining members of the group will have 2 weeks to fill the empty space with a suitable replacement. The new replacement student must keep the group within the same housing option the group has selected (i.e. if the replacement student was a part of the original group, would the group still be in a townhouse). If the space is not filled within the 2 week timeframe, the Office of Residential Life and Housing reserves the right to fill the space with the next group on the waitlist or with another student.
