Early Arrival Housing

Students who are required to be on the Hartwick College campus for on-campus employment, athletic team practice or participation, academic requirement, or college-sponsored or college-sanctioned participation (e.g., RA training, Orientation Leaders) prior to the published check-in date for the Fall and January terms are eligible to arrive early.

The student's employment supervisor, athletic coach, dean's office, academic advisor, or club coordinator must submit a full roster of the students that they are requiring to arrive early to the Office of Residential Life and Housing by August 1st.

No request for early arrival will be granted without meeting the requirements stated above.

Fall Term

All first-year students, not arriving early to the above stated reasons, should arrive to campus according to the Welcome Weekend schedule for the Fall term. Returning Hartwick students (sophomores, juniors and seniors), not arriving early to the above stated reasons, cannot arrive to campus before 8:00 a.m. on the Sunday before the first day of classes for Fall term.

January Term (J Term)

All students, not arriving early to the above stated reasons, cannot arrive to campus before 8:00 a.m. on the Sunday before the first day of classes for J-term.

Spring Term

Because the college is not closed between the J-term and Spring term, students who were enrolled in a J Term course can stay between the terms. Students not enrolled in a J-term course cannot return to campus before 8:00 a.m. on the Sunday before the first day of classes for Spring term.
