Mental Health Emergencies

Mental Health CRISIS

A mental health crisis is a non-life threatening situation in which an individual is exhibiting extreme emotional disturbance or behavioral distress, considering harm to self or others, disoriented or out of touch with reality, has a compromised ability to function, or is otherwise agitated and unable to be calmed.

To help students who are experiencing a crisis, we provide crisis appointments Monday through Friday at 9:00am. These are brief, evaluative sessions where we provide you with options for treatment and any other available actions that are relevant to your immediate needs.  Call the counseling center at 607-431-4420.
