There is a CRISIS for blood in the area! O+ (“O” positive), the universal blood type, is in a critical shortage in the area! PLEASE HELP by donating! (If the ER does not know your blood type, they will give you O+.) There is also a shortage for O- blood. Any blood donated will be valued greatly!

Hartwick College sponsors two blood drives a semester through the American Red Cross. Students are encouraged to sign up outside the cafeteria for a specific time slot. On the day of the drive, the Red Cross equipment is set up in Stack Lounge, Dewar Union. This effort is completely initiated and organized by our students. Past co-sponsors have included the Women’s Lacrosse Team, the Pre-Med Club, SOSU/BU, and the EMS Club. An average of 50 people donate blood at each drive.
