Campus Ambassadors FAQs

Q: Who may join Hartwick College Campus Ambassadors?

A: Campus Ambassadors is open to any Hartwick students, faculty, and staff members who want to participate and respect our Christian purpose.

Q: Is Campus Ambassadors a nationally recognized organization?

A: Yes, visit the national Campus Ambassadors Web site for more information: http://www.campusambassadors.com.

Q: Is Campus Ambassadors affiliated with any local church communities?

A: Yes, Campus Ambassadors is a local ministry of Main Street Baptist Church in Oneonta. MSBC makes a special effort to welcome students. Many CA students attend MSBC, but it is not a requirement. The Crossing is a Sunday evening worship service sponsored by the church and designed with college students in mind.

Q: I am not a Christian, but I am interested in learning about Christianity. Am I still welcome?

A: Absolutely. The revelation of God in nature all around us, available through the Bible, and in the conscience of every person is robust and abundant. All are invited to “come and see” that the Lord is good. It is inherent to healthy Christian spirituality that invitations to faith and commitment respect the dignity of each one to choose his or her own course. Our purpose is to promote positive dialogue about Christianity, and to present authentic examples of Christian life and experience. We are very happy about what we have in Christ; the gospel is Good News! However, people have the right as well as the responsibility to make up their own minds about spiritual things.

Q: Does the Campus Ambassadors staff provide counseling?

A: Our Campus Ambassadors staff provides individual spiritual counseling, but are not certified counselors or psychologists. We offer spiritual guidance, clarification on Biblical issues, and personal encouragement.
