Title: Junior Class Scholarship Committee Chair
Reports to: Shelby Palmer WickWire Coordinator
Department: Office of Annual Giving, College Advancement
Pay rate: $8/hour
Overview: The Junior Class Scholarship Committee Chair is responsible for working with the Class Scholarship Committee to educate students on the importance of giving and to fundraise for the Class Scholarship.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must be reliable and committed to the position. He or she should be energetic, outgoing, and able to work independently. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must. Fundraising or sales experience is a plus, but not required. You must be a member of the Hartwick College Class of 2016.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Commit to working approximately 3 to 5 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible.
Commit to working the entire academic year.
Commit to a weekly staff meeting.
Work special events as needed.
Be knowledgeable and positive about Hartwick College and the Class Scholarship Fund.
Set an example for the class by making an immediate donation to the Class Scholarship Fund.
Recruit classmates to be volunteers who will fundraise for the Class Scholarship Fund.
Plan and present a training session to committee volunteers.
Serve as the spokesperson for the Class Scholarship Fund; this will involve speaking at class events and talking about the program around campus.
Communicate Class Scholarship Fund news to the class through e-mail, campus mail, Hilltops, etc.
Keep records as gifts are received.
Other tasks in the Office of Annual Giving as assigned.
A review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Preference will be given to applicants that are work-study eligible; however, all students that meet or exceed the necessary skills for this position are encouraged to apply.
