Health Insurance Coverage

Hartwick College requires that all students maintain medical insurance coverage. For students who are U.S. citizens and covered under their own or a parent's health insurance, the College health insurance is optional. For international students, the Hartwick College health insurance is mandatory.

For 2013-14, the rates are as follows:

  • Full 12-month coverage (August 25, 2013-August 24, 2014): $1,500.00
  • Fall-only coverage (August 25, 2013 to December 31, 2013: $750.00.
  • Spring-only coverage (January 1, 2014 to August 24, 2014: $810.00.
--Students must be enrolled at Hartwick to be eligible for coverage.

The Fall Term billing statement includes a charge of $750.00 for the first half of the 12-month student health insurance. This charge will remain and the student will be enrolled in the Hartwick College Health Insurance Program unless the insurance election form is completed and returned to the Office of Student Accounts by August 5.  The form can be completed by clicking here.

A new election form must be submitted each academic year. Information regarding the insurance program is mailed each summer.

The 2013-14 brochure, outlining coverage for the current year, is available here.  The Health Insurance Claim Form can be found here. All claims should be submitted to the Perrella Wellness Center.
