William Golding
LORD OF THE FLIES

This case study portrays leadership development and conflict among a group of boys marooned on a desert island.  It also explores the alternative ways a subordinate leader can wrest control of the group from an elected leader.  A detailed discussion on the abuses of authority and the leader's role in group development is also explored.  The case study clearly demonstrates the importance of collaboration and compromise, rather than competition, in achieving organizational objectives.
