Hartwick Theatre Arts to Present “Dearly Departed”February 2, 2010
Hartwick College will present Dearly Departed—an uproarious story of a beleaguered family, oddball neighbors, and a funeral—beginning February 3 in Lab Theatre, Bresee Hall, on the Hartwick campus.
The play, presented by the Department of English and Theatre Arts, tells the “drop-dead funny” tale of the Turpin family and their neighbors, who try to pull themselves together for daddy’s funeral, proving that living and dying in the south, while not simple, is always hilarious.
The cast includes Hartwick students and alumni Lita Benson '12, Molly Bolton '10, Lauren Cipriano '12, Stacey Davis '10, Samantha Green '07, Joey Haws '09, Salina Polanco '13, Gilbert Pearto '11, Mike Seeber '13, Sara Williams '10, and Mike Yalcin '12.
Dearly Departed is directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Malissa Kano-White and stage- managed by Elizabeth Celata '13. Other stage staff include Pearto (scenic designer), Tim Huey '10 (lighting designer), Theatre Arts Lecturer Gary Burlew (technical director), and Benson (props designer).
Showtimes are 7 p.m. February 3 and 4, 8 p.m. February 19 and 20, and 2 p.m. February 21. Tickets are $8 for the general public, and $5 for Hartwick students, faculty, and staff. Reservations are strongly encouraged by calling 607-431-4CAP (4227) or by clicking here.
