Hartwick to Host Family Weekend September 24-26

September 21, 2010

Hartwick will welcome families and friends to Oyaron Hill and Pine Lake this weekend, September 24-26, for this year's Family Weekend.

For three days, families will get a closer look at life on campus, with events, games, exhibits, picnics, and discussions geared toward understanding Hartwick. The weekend will kick off Friday with exhibits at the Yager Museum of Art & Culture, a women's tennis match, a dessert and mocktail party, Toy Story 3, and a Music Department showcase.

On Saturday, families will have an opportunity to meet Hartwick faculty and get a taste of Oneonta's famous Brooks' Bar-B-Q. That afternoon, they'll be able to learn about Hartwick's many internships and study-abroad experiences, discuss College issues with President Margaret L. Drugovich, and find out what life at Pine Lake is all about--from the Challenge ropes course to the Cob house, bread baking, and more.

Saturday night, comedian Howie Mandel will bring his well-known stand-up to Lambros Arena for a 9 p.m. show. Tickets are $20 and are available at www.hartwicktickets.com. Mandel's performance is presented by the Hartwick Campus Activities Board.

The weekend, which will wrap up Sunday with brunch in The Commons, gives families of Hartwick students an opportunity to become an even closer part of the College community. All family members are encouraged to come and enjoy the weekend's events.
