Renowned comedian Howie Mandel will bring his act to Hartwick College's Lambros Arena on September 25. Tickets for the Hartwick community and the public go on sale Monday, August 30. The stage and screen star will be among the highlights of Hartwick's Family Weekend 2010.
"We are extremely excited to be able to bring such a well-known comedian to Hartwick College for this year's Family Weekend," said Andy Binder, Hartwick's Director of Dewar Union and Campus Activities. "Howie Mandel's comedy and television work is recognized by both parents and students alike, and he is an ideal fit for our headlining Family Weekend performance."
Mandel has been a mainstay of the American comedy scene for three decades, from his work as Dr. Wayne Fiscus in the Emmy Award-winning NBC drama "St. Elsewhere" to the Emmy Award-nominated "Bobby's World."
As the series creator, executive producer, and main voice, Mandel was involved in most of the writing for "Bobby's World," which ran on Fox for eight seasons and now appears in syndication six days a week in 65 countries. Mandel recently has been the host of the NBC hit show "Deal or No Deal." Currently he is a judge on the hit summer series "America's Got Talent," working alongside Piers Morgan, Sharon Osborne, and Nick Cannon. He also is a regular guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and the main fill-in host for Regis Philbin on "Live with Regis and Kelly."
Mandel continues to perform as many as 200 shows a year throughout the United States and Canada, and will bring his tour to Hartwick for one night only on September 25. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for the special performance, which is set to begin at 9 p.m.
General admission tickets are $20 for Hartwick students and families, faculty, staff, and alumni; $28 for the general public. They are available from www.hartwicktickets.com.
