Hartwick’s Janitz Completes Selective HR Leadership ProgramJanuary 31, 2014
Hartwick College Director of Human Resources Suzanne L. Janitz recently participated in the fifth Capital Region Human Resource Leadership Program.
According to the CRHRA's website, "The CRHRA Leadership Program brings together HR professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential for the purpose of making them better equipped to assume leadership responsibilities within their organization and the human resource community."
The program, which was facilitated by John M. Bagyi, Esq., SPHR and Diane Lustenader, SPHR, CCP, GRP, ran from September through December 2013 and exposed participants to leaders in the Capital Region HR community who addressed core HR leadership competencies as well as the unique challenges HR faces in various industries. Participants also widened their HR networks to include not only other participants, but the HR leaders to whom they were exposed.
From a pool of highly qualified candidates, Janitz was one of 13 HR Professionals selected for participation. As part of the program, Janitz had the opportunity to hear relevant speakers and meet with leaders in organizations throughout the Capital Region.
"I felt right at home while completing this program and truly enjoyed garnering wisdom from HR leaders," said Janitz. "I valued the many opportunities it provided me with to network with leaders from across New York State, and it confirmed and strengthened for me the professional qualities that I possess."
Vice President for Finance at Hartwick George Elsbeck accompanied Janitz to the culmination of the program.
"I am pleased that our College afforded Suzanne the opportunity to participate in this program," said Elsbeck. "Suzanne was able to network with Albany-area HR professionals while advancing her professional and personal leadership abilities."
The Capital Region Human Resource Association is the northeastern New York State Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The Chapter was founded in 1946 and is currently comprised of over 1,100 professionals, employed in various human resource functions in over 520 companies.
