Hartwick Alum Returns for Lecture on “Business of Design”

April 18, 2012

Keith Granet '79, founder of Granet & Associates, will return to campus for a lecture at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3 in the Anderson Center for the Arts Theatre. He will address "The Business of Design: Balancing Creativity and Profitability." His talk is free and open to the public.

Granet formed Granet & Associates in 1991 to provide financial and operational support management services to the design industry. He has 30 years of experience working in the design industry, beginning with the highly respected firm Gensler. After working with almost 400 design firms, Granet & Associates is now known as the premier management and licensing agency to the design industry.

His book, "The Business of Design: Balancing Creativity and Profitability" debunks the myth that entrepreneurial sense and creative talent are mutually exclusive. A vibrant and enticing look at the business side of design practice, this graphically beautiful book is neither dry nor intimidating. Over the past 30 years, consultant Granet has enjoyed helping design professionals turn their passion into profit, and is pleased to provide all of the necessary tools- from billing and human resources to branding and project management to marketing and licensing- in one easy-to-use guide.
