Kreisher Pieces on Display in 'Thread, Pixels, Paper'

May 10, 2011

TearsSeveral works by Arkell Hall Professor of Art Katharine Kreisher have been chosen for inclusion in Thread, Pixels, Paper at the Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson, NY.

Kreisher's photographs—including Face: Tears, No. 1 and Figure: Floating White—will join those of artists Melinda McDaniel and Melissa Zexter. Kreisher's pieces alter "old and new photographic images of herself and her personal environment by using a variety of traditional and digital methods. She uses small sections of photographs, isolating the pixels in order to expand on her vision. Kreisher's images explore one's sense of self in the world and the ongoing metamorphosis that takes place as our elusive, fragilely constructed identities shift throughout life."

Thread, Pixels, Paper opens May 26 at the Carrie Haddad Gallery, 318 Warren St. in Hudson, NY, and will run through July 3. An opening reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. May 28 and is open to the public. For more information about the exhibit, contact the gallery at 518-828-7655 or visit
