Public Invited to Music Festival Concert Series

As Hartwick College prepares to welcome more than 150 budding musicians to campus July 11-24, the Oneonta community is invited to attend a concert series of events as part of College’s Summer Music Festival performances.

This year’s festival, An Academy of Music Education and Performance, includes nearly a dozen performances by ensembles, guest artists, students, faculty, and orchestras. All of the events below are free and open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, all performances will take place in Anderson Center for the Arts on the Hartwick College campus.

Monday, July 12
Faculty Ensemble Showcase, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 15
U.S. Army Brass Quintet, 7:30 p.m.

Friday, July 16
Cassatt String Quartet, 7:30 p.m. ($10 donation suggested)

Saturday, July 17
Festival Concert, Chamber Music, 3 p.m.
Festival Concert, Symphony Orchestra, 4 p.m.

Monday, July 19
Faculty Ensemble Showcase, 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 21
U.S. Army Wind Quartet, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 22
Music Under the Stars, 7:30 p.m. (this performance will take place at Hartwick’s Pine Lake Environmental Campus)

Friday, July 23
Big-band concert featuring “Bones” Malone, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 24
Festival Concert, Chamber Music, 3 p.m.
Festival Concert, Wind Ensemble featuring Susan Fancher, 4 p.m.
