Hartwick’s O’Connor Chair Lecture to Feature Emily Edelman

The Hartwick College Department of Nursing will soon host Emily Edelman, MS, CGC Associate Director, Clinical & Continuing Education, The Jackson Laboratory, as she presents on the topics of genetics and genomics. The event will take place from March 19-20, 2014, and will serve as the spring 2014 installment of the Lindsay and Olive B. O'Connor Chair of Nursing Lecture Series.

Edelman is a board-certified genetic counselor whose work focuses on genetics education for health professionals. At the Jackson Laboratory, she collaborates with healthcare providers to incorporate genetics and genomics into clinical practice through diverse education programs.

Previously, at the National Coalition for Health Professional Education in Genetics (NCHPEG), Edelman directed the development of targeted education programs and clinical tools in genetics for healthcare providers, including initiatives in family health history, neurology, and cancer. Prior to joining NCHPEG, Edelman was a genetic counselor at the Genomic Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic, where she held roles in cancer genetic counseling, cancer research, family health history and personalized medicine initiatives.

The public is invited to join the free evening lecture on Wednesday evening, and nurses and nurse educators are invited to join the workshop on Thursday morning. Nurses and nurse educators are asked to RSVP for the workshop via the additional event details and contact information listed below:
