Pine Lake to Host Annual Eco Art Festival

In an ongoing celebration of Earth Day, Hartwick College's Pine Lake Environmental Campus will soon host an Eco Art Festival. The events will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, and are scheduled to continue through noon on Sunday, May 5. The event is free and the public is invited to attend and partake in earth-friendly activities throughout the weekend.

Attendees will be able to explore Hartwick's environmental campus, with Saturday's day-time events to include: Artist Charles Bremer from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., open high ropes course from 12 to 3 p.m., live music from 1 to 4 p.m., a chili cook off competition (materials for cooking will be available at 1 p.m. and tasting will begin at 6 p.m.), and the Pine Lake Photography Show opening at 2 p.m.

Other activities that will take place throughout the day will be tie-dying (bring your own shirt, socks, etc), hiking, and boating on the lake. Saturday night's events will include an outdoor movie showing, a campfire at dusk, and camping under the stars. To conclude the festival, Sunday's events will include a pancake breakfast and mural painting in the Lodge.

The Eco Art Fest is sponsored by the Pine Lake Club, The Grassroots Club, Pine Lake Environmental Campus, Student Activities, and the current "Tools for Life" Campus Theme.
