‘Exploration’ Pine Lake Photo Contest Prizes AwardedDecember 6, 2013
Winners in the fall 2013 "Exploration" photo contest were announced at the annual Pine Lake Holiday Dinner which was held on Wednesday, December 4 in the Vaudevillian at Hartwick's Pine Lake Environmental Campus.
An excellent crop of 70 photos were submitted for review this season from more than 25 different students. Student photographers were asked to submit photos which addressed Hartwick's 2013-2014 campus theme, 'Exploration.' The following students were awarded prizes based on careful consideration and selection by judges from all images submitted:
- Lucas Vanerio '16, first place, "Pumpkin Spice Latte"
- Christine Confer '15, second place, "Overlook"
- Alexis Kaminsky Jr. '16, third place, "Drifting"
Serving as judges for the competition were Mansir Petrie, global education and service learning advisor, Center for Professional, Service, Global Engagement, Peter Blue, manager of Pine Lake operations, Laura Boissy, academic intern for the Department of Art and Art History and Monica Baxter, member of the community.
The photo show will be on display in the Vaudevillian at Pine Lake through mid-spring 2014. The photo contest and show were supported by the 2013-14 'Exploration' campus theme, the department of Art and Art History, and the Pine Lake Institute for Environmental and Sustainability Studies.
