The Princeton Review Again Names Hartwick a Best Northeastern College

August 7, 2013

Hartwick College remains one of the best colleges in the Northeast according to national education services company The Princeton Review. Hartwick is one of 226 colleges that The Princeton Review has chosen for their "Best in the Northeast" section of their website feature, "2014 Best Colleges: Region by Region."

The Princeton Review's "regional best" colleges constitute only 25% of the nation's four-year schools. From hundreds of institutions considered in each region, schools were selected primarily for their excellent academic programs.  Secondarily, The Princeton Review took into account what students attending the schools reported about their campus experiences.  Across the four locales reviewed: the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and West, a total of 643 schools were named to these lists.

"We are pleased that Hartwick has once again been named a 'Best in the Northeast' college by The Princeton Review," said David Conway, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. "As student comments were used in their selection, our College's continued appearance on this list signifies that our students remain pleased with the Hartwick experience."

Within the listing, Hartwick College is described as "a tight-knit community that gives endless opportunities to its students."

Student comments on The Princeton Review's Hartwick College profile also include:

  • "Hartwick College and the surrounding area afford a marvelous immersion into the Catskill foothills."
  • Hartwick students are very happy with their "simply AMAZING!" professors who "bend over backwards to make sure [you] understand the material."
  • "Almost all of my professors have been exemplary teachers and available whenever I have needed assistance," says one student. All in all, Hartwick is an "institution of unforgettable and magical experiences."

Since 1992, The Princeton Review has been one of the most trusted sources for college rankings and information. The Princeton Review is not affiliated with Princeton University or the Educational Testing Service.
