Hartwick to Host American Shakespeare Center PlayOctober 6, 2011
The American Shakespeare Center on Tour will recreate the magic of the Blackfriars Playhouse, the world's only Shakespeare indoor theatre, at 7 p.m. Friday, October 7, in Hartwick College's Slade Theatre, with ‘Tis Pity She's a Whore.
John Ford's brilliant 1633 re-imagining of Romeo and Juliet, ‘Tis Pity She's a Whore leads audiences deep into a story of passion, vengeance, greed, incest, and murder. After almost 400 years, the tale of forbidden love remains controversial, shocking, and theatrically spellbinding.
Based in Staunton, VA, the American Shakespeare Center on Tour boasts nearly two decades worth of global touring experience. The elite troupe stands as one of America's foremost providers of quality entertainment on both sides of the Atlantic.
Tickets for ‘Tis Pity She's a Whore at Hartwick College are $8 general admission and free with Hartwick student ID. For reservation information, call 607-431-4227.
