Silent Witness Program

The Silent Witness Program is provided as a service to you for anonymous reporting of actual crimes/incidents or serious policy violations which may affect the health, safety or welfare of the Hartwick College community. It is not designed to replace the need to contact Campus Safety or 911 directly with information about an emergency, crime in progress or potential harmful situation. During those situations, contact Campus Safety immediately at extension 4111 (607-431-4111) or 911.

By completing the form below, you are providing us with valuable information that may be helpful in solving a crime or preventing a future incident. Campus Safety officers check for electronic reports daily.

Again, if you see a situation in progress, don't delay, call Campus Safety immediately. DO NOT use this form for a crime in progress.

It is a crime under NYS law to make a false report of a crime. (NY Penal Law, Section 240.50)

It is our policy not to trace the origin on an e-mail sent via this form. But if there is a threat to personal or public safety, or if we suspect that the report is a false report under NYS law, a trace via campus network logs will be conducted. In such a case, the trace will be approved by the Vice President for Student Affairs or the President.

If you have been the victim of a crime, we encourage you to seek out assistance and emotional support from Hartwick College Counseling Services: robinsong@hartwick.edu or 607-431-4420.
