Every summer, Hartwick opens its doors to young people who come to participate in its varied summer programs.

Hartwick has a long tradition of offering outstanding sports camps, providing participants with an opportunity to have fun while improving their athletics skills. Each camp is directed and staffed by highly qualified professionals in the field of athletics. For the benefit of our campers, enrollment is limited, assuring individuals attention and frequent feedback from the coaching staff. Hartwick also offers excellent recreational facilities that enhance each camp program.

Note: Information is subject to change. Please contact the Summer Sports Camps office at 607-431-7000 or by E-Mail (SportsCamps@hartwick.edu) if you have any questions or need additional information.

General Information

Fees
Camp tuition includes a non-refundable application fee ($35 for residents and commuters), excess accident insurance, instruction, use of College facilities, and a camp T-shirt. The cost for residents includes lodging and meals. The cost for commuters includes lunch and dinner. A separate application fee is due for each camp and/or session.

Note: Hartwick College Sports Camps offer a 10 percent discount to children of Hartwick employees, Coaches Club members, and alumni. In compliance with NCAA regulations, only children who have not started 10th grade are eligible for this discount. Please complete the appropriate information on the application form.

Team Discounts
Team discounts are available for most Hartwick College Summer Sports Camps, and teams must apply as a team. For more information, contact the Hartwick College Summer Sports Camp Office at 607-431-4700 or by E-mail.

Refund Policy
A full refund of payments will be made when a camper applies for a camp that is filled or cancelled. If a camper withdraws prior to the starting date (registration) of a camp, all payments except the application fee will be refunded. Once the camp begins, there are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures. Refunds based on medical conditions will be provided as conditions warrant.

Room and Board

Campers for all residential camps will be housed in supervised student residence halls, two campers per room. Please contact the camp office for details. Roommate preference must be stated on the application form. Meals will be served in the Commons, the College's centrally located dining hall. Linen is not provided. Campers should bring linen, towels, a swimsuit, a combination lock for use in the locker room, toiletries and appropriate athletic and casual clothing. All campers wishing to use Hartwick's indoor pool will be skill tested at the beginning of each camp.

Insurance

Parents are advised to provide health insurance for their children attending a camp at the College. If the services of a physician or Fox Hospital of Oneonta are required, charges will be made directly to the parents. A $2,500 accident policy is provided for all campers (this is excess coverage beyond parental insurance).

Health Requirements/Facilities
The Perrella Wellness Center provides health care and emergency services 24 hours a day while camps are in session. As required by the New York State Department of Health, all campers must submit, on forms provided by the College, complete documentation of immunizations and a physical examination within the past year, as well as a completed Medication Form completed and signed by the camper's health care provider. This form MUST include all over-the-counter and/or prescription medications. For your convenience, forms to be completed may be printed from this web site. Compliance with this regulation is a prerequisite for admission to the summer programs.

Damage Policy

Violation of camp regulations may result in immediate dismissal from camp. Actions will be taken to secure reimbursement for damages to College property. Should a camper be dismissed for any disciplinary reasons, there will be no refund issued.

How to Apply

Fill out the application form, indicating the camp(s)/sessions(s) you wish to attend. The Responsibility for Payment/Permission to Transport Form provided after the on-line application is submitted must be completed and returned to the Summer Sports Camp Office along with the non-refundable application fee for each camp/session selected. The balance of the fee is due before or at registration. Upon receipt of your application fee, additional camp information will be sent, along with a Health Examination/Parental Consent Form and Medication Form which must be completed and returned prior to registration. No camper will be allowed to participate in camp activities until these forms are recieved and approved by the College.

Facilities

Participants in all the Hartwick College Summer Sports Camps benefit from the use of quality athletic facilities. The facilities make the camps enjoyable with plenty of opportunities for recreation while allowing camp directors and staff to create the best possible environment for instruction and competition.

The Binder Physical Education Center contains the newly renovated main gymnasium, as well as the aquatic arena, fitness center, racquetball courts, sports medicine facilities, locker rooms, and athletic offices.

In February 2009, the gym was named in honor of Nick Lambros, former men's basketball head coach and camp director. It is home to Hartwick's basketball and volleyball programs, and has undergone several renovations with a new playing floor, lighting, and bleachers.

The Moyer Pool seats 500 spectators, and has an eight-lane, 25-yard pool equipped with a Colorado timing system and flo-through racing lanes. There are two one-meter and two three-meter diving boards.

Hartwick's summer sports camps utilize many of the College's outdoor athletic facilities. Wright Stadium, a lighted all-weather (FieldTurf®) field serves as the primary surface for the field hockey camps. Three natural grass playing fields along with Wright Stadium provide outstanding facilities for the College's soccer camps.

Hartwick College Summer Programs are duly licensed by the New York State Department of Health and are in full compliance with all safety and health codes relating to the operation of summer "overnight camps" for individuals under the age of 18.
