Binder P. E. Center Hours of Operation


Binder Physical Education Center facilities are open only to Hartwick College students, faculty and staff, and their approved guests, and also eligible members of the Coaches Club.Access to the Elting Fitness Center and Moyer Pool will be monitered by a scantron system. Persons utilizing these two facilities must have a scannable identification card. All persons planning to make use of these facilities must be prepared to show proper college identification (either a current Hartwick College identification card, building pass or Coaches Club membership card). Anyone not able to show proper identification will be asked to leave the facility. Students, faculty, staff, and Coaches Club members must present a scanable identification card to access these two facilities. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent when using the Binder P.E. Center facilities.

 Moyer Swimming Pool Hours 

  • Moyer Pool Hours may change due to availability of student lifeguards.
  • Swimming pool hours will change due to intercollegiate swimming and diving meets and water polo matches - season runs from September - May.

      Mon.-Fri.     7:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.; 12 p.m.-2 p.m.; 7 p.m. -9 p.m.
      Sat.-Sun.        1:00 p.m.-5 p.m.

  Elting Fitness Center Hours

  • All students, faculty, staff, and coaches club members must present and leave I.D. card at front desk. Card will be returned upon departure from center. Children 13-15 years of age are permitted to use the fitness center only when accompanied by a parent. Children 12 and under are not permitted in the fitness center.
  • Hours may change due to availability of student staff

Equipment Room Hours

Monday-Friday

  • 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday

  • 10:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.

Men's and Women's Sauna

Men's and women's sauna will be open for use when the building is open.

Racquetball  & Squash Court Reservations

  • All courts will be open for use during the established building hours.
  • No phoned-in reservations are accepted during the summer. The courts will be available on a frist-come, first-served basis.

Coaches Club

Membership Benefits
Membership benefits include use of athletic facilities for:

  • Basketball, Racquetball, Squash, Swimming, Tennis, Track
  • The Elting Fitness Center provides members with state-of-the-art equipment. Heidi Hofbauer, director of the center, will be happy to develop individual testing and fitness programs, along with diet and nutrition conditioning.
  • Swimming lessons and water fitness instruction are available and can be arranged through aquatics director Dale Rothenberger.
  • An indoor golf net provides winter ball-striking opportunities. Nick Lambros is Hartwick's contact for golf facility availability and golfing tips as well as access to the latest in videotape instruction.
  • Modern saunas are available in the men's and women's locker room facilities.
  • Tickets are available to regular season home games in soccer, basketball, and football.

In order to insure the integrity of each and every membership, a new check-in system is now in place in the Binder P.E. Center. Members are required to have their building passes with them at all times, as floor monitors will be supervising the building on a daily basis.


Membership Options

  • A gift of $300 or more will entitle members and their immediate family to regular season tickets for men's soccer, basketball, and football, and use of Binder P.E. Center facilities.
  • A gift of $250 will entitle an individual to regular season tickets for men's soccer, basketball and football, and use of the Binder P.E. Center Facilities.
  • A gift of $125 will entitle members and their immediate family to receive regular season tickets to men's soccer, basketball, and football games.
  • A gift of $75 will entitle an individual to receive regular season tickets to men's soccer, basketball, and football games.

A 10% senior citizen discount on each option above is available. To qualify for the discount, a member must be 60 years of age or over. For family memberships, the discount is available to those families whose head of household or spouse is 60 years of age or older. Proof of age may be required.

Note: The government requires that we advise: contributions or gifts to the Hartwick College Coaches Club are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. (However, they may be tax deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.)
