The "more-than-an-ID" Campus Card is here!
A swipe of the student ID card will get you access to your residence hall and meal plan, and will provide you access to a declining balance account for campus food establishments, the Bookstore, library, campus vending machines, and campus laundry. In addition, a number of off-campus merchants have agreed to honor the card for your off-campus purchases.
The WICKit card is like a debit card; it works like this...By going to http://community.hartwick.edu, you can make a deposit to your WICKit account using VISA or MasterCard and view the account activity online. (If you wish to pay by cash or check, please send or take payment to the cashier in the Finance Office in Arnold Hall. All credit card payments are completed only online.) The funds will be carried over from one academic year to the next and are refundable at graduation or time of separation from college. WICKit funds are separate from your college student account and cannot be charged there.
You can still use your regular college student account to charge textbooks and academic supplies at both the Bookstore and the Textbook Store just as before. However, the WICKit account would allow you to charge academic and non-academic supplies. Please keep in mind that if you are using loan funds or work study to pay for textbooks, they must be charged to the student account, not the WICKit account. (The Bookstore folks will give you the choice.)
You can still have Meal Plan Dollars (sort of like last year's Wick Cash). You or your parents can add funds to a declining balance for use in the Commons, Table Rock Café, or the Convenience Store. These funds can still be pre-paid or charged to the student account by contacting the Office of Student Accounts. These funds are non-refundable, and while the funds can be held over from fall to spring, they are not carried to the next academic year. The bonus to this option is that no sales tax is added because they can be used only for food.
