A Message from your Chair of the Hartwick Fund, Bruce Anderson '63

Make a Gift

For me, Hartwick has always been about connections. As a student I was given the opportunity to play basketball, achieve my academic potential, and create lifelong friendships. I had a support system--both professors and friends--that provided outstanding motivation to succeed. These connections were made possible by Hartwick's small size, its tight-knit community, and emphasis on the student experience. I chose Hartwick because I knew I could thrive in its unique atmosphere.

Now I enter the next phase in my relationship with Hartwick College as Chair of the Hartwick Fund. My Hartwick experience--the education that worked so well for me--was made possible by the generosity of the Hartwick community. Financial aid gave me the opportunity to begin my life's journey at Hartwick. I have always said that I would pay Hartwick back for that opportunity. So it is with great pleasure that I continue to give my time and resources in that spirit of thanks.

A gift to the Hartwick Fund is a gift to the future of current students, future students, and this place that connects each one of us. The Hartwick Fund provides stability for our small college in a world increasingly dominated by large institutions, where students often face anonymity rather than connection. Annual unrestricted gifts are our declaration of pride in the opportunity that Hartwick College provides--for students to connect with each other, their professors, and the world beyond the classroom. The Hartwick Fund supports financial aid and scholarships, study-abroad opportunities, attracting and retaining first-rate faculty, internship programs, and much more. It is strength. It is pride. It is all of us. We are Hartwick.

In view of our world's current financial instability, the College must, and will, increasingly rely on the solidity of the Hartwick Fund. Consider making an unrestricted gift to the Hartwick Fund today. You have the power to guarantee a strong future for this institution that is our common bond. We are Hartwick, and together we can and do make a difference on Oyaron Hill every day.

Sincerely,

Bruce Anderson '63
