Douglas Hamilton

Doug H. is a plant biologist who uses molecular techniques to answer questions about plant growth and development. His current project involves research into the mechanisms by which certain genes are activated in plant tissues. He teaches several courses, including Principles of Biology, Plant Physiology, and Plant Development, and Island Biogeography, an off-campus course in tropical biology. Doug spent his formative years playing rock n' roll guitar and now enjoys music, golf, tennis, bowling, scuba, volleyball, watching baseball, and "taking care of my pistol of a daughter. I could tell you more but then I'd have to marry you." Doug started at Hartwick in the Fall of 1995.
