Routine Primary Care
The Wellness Center staff is available for on-campus programming to residence halls and classrooms. Additionally, they coordinate an annual on-campus health fair.
Insurance
Medical treatment obtained outside of the Perrella Wellness Center is the financial responsibility of the student. Parents or students may want to consider the purchase of the affordable student health insurance. It provides a comprehensive coverage plan to students without the necessity of prior approvals. Questions regarding the student's insurance can be directed to the office manager at the Wellness Center.
There is no charge to be seen by a healthcare provider. Prescriptions, lab studies, supplies, and equipment will be provided at a nominal fee. Many of these items are available on-site. Lab studies will be billed to the students' health insurance plan.
Referrals
The Wellness Center staff can provide the names, addresses, and phone number of local specialists to whom students may be referred.
Medical Excuses
The Perrella Wellness Center will not issue statements or excuses for missed classes or exams. The only exception would be the decision of the healthcare provider that the student's condition would be jeopardized if he or she attended classes. In these cases, the Wellness Center will, with the authorization of the student, send written documentation to professors. At all other times, the student is responsible for notifying his/her instructors of absences caused by illness or injury.
