Kwadwo "Kojo" Kyei-Baffour '08

In the spring of 2006, Kojo was one of six students to be named a John Christopher Hartwick Scholar, Hartwick's highest student award.

What are you majoring in?

I'm in the 3-2 program with majors in computer science and electrical engineering.  I also have a minor in mathematics.

Where are you from?

Ghana

Why did you choose Hartwick?

I was attracted by the opportunity to do a 3-2 combined program in computer computer science and electrical  engineering with Hartwick and one of its affiliated universities (Columbia University and Clarkson University).

The excellent student faculty ratio was another attraction.

What have been the best parts of your experience in the CISC Department?

My favorite this have been undertaking very challenging programming projects as well as designing and building new server computers for the CISC Clubhouse.

What else have you enjoyed at Hartwick?

Making wonderful new friends, keeping a healthy academic life, and being able to contribute to the Hartwick community as a Resident Advisor.

Have you done any internships?

I did an internship during the summer of 2006 working with Dutchi Motors in the Netherlands.  Dutchi Motors is a company that manufactures electrical motors for various applications.  I worked closely with an electrical technician modifying and testing all kinds of electrical motors.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I plan to work in industry for a few years before continuing on to do a masters degree.
