Over the years the Department of Computer and Information Sciences has been extraordinarily fortunate to have a substantial number of students from other countries as majors. The current list includes
Maher Awartani, '05, West Bank, Ramallah

Maher is a computer science major and math minor. He is in the honors program and the international club. He has participated in several peace seminars for youth politics mostly concerned with the Palestian - Israeli conflict.
Ronard Farina, '06, Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Ronald is a computer science major whose hobbies include playing soccer and video games. He is into anything that has to do with technology. At present he is busy programming Lego MindStorm Robots using the Java language and the leJOS operating system.
Ahmed Farooq, '05, Lahore, Pakistan

Ahmed is a computer science major with minors in mathematics and political science. He enjoys travelling, kayaking, playing racquetball and squash, and horseback riding.
"The professors are really supportive, friendly and willing to help. Courses offered are challenging and competitive. The environment is relaxed and computers are available with extra features for experimentation by the students."

Zlatko is an information science major and graphics design minor. He also plays guitar and enjoys making music.

Elena is a double major in information science and art with a special interest in sculpture. Drawing is another hobby. Elena hopes to combine both her interests -- programming and art -- in the future.
