On September 3rd, the paintings of Oneonta native Elizabeth Wilde will be on view in the Community Gallery of The Yager Museum of Art & Culture at Hartwick College.
The exhibition features a number of contemplative oil paintings, which invite viewers to share in their serenity. Wilde describes her work: “The locations I seek allow the viewer to enter a place that is completely private and undisturbed. I am inspired by the drama of changing light, uninterrupted horizons, and the simultaneous effect on mood. My paintings comment on the essence of retreat.”
A 2004 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, Wilde has exhibited her work at numerous galleries in New York State, including Blue Seed Studios in Saranac Lake, the State University at Albany, the Cooperstown Art Association, and at Studio 2029 and UCCCA of Oneonta.
Wilde’s work will remain on display through December 3, 2006. The Community Gallery is on the 4th floor of Yager Hall in the library lobby on the Hartwick College campus. The exhibit is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday, from 12:00 to 4:30. Admission is free.
