The anthropology faculty at Hartwick consists of two cultural anthropologists who conduct field studies in Ecuador and Sri Lanka; one biological anthropologist whose field work is in South Africa; and one archaeologist who works in the steppes of Russia and Kazakhstan and in the northeastern U.S. In addition, the department is fortunate to offer courses taught by two adjunct instructors: an archaeologist and a biological anthropologist.
All of the faculty are active in field studies and research; they have published numerous articles and books; their work is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and other agencies; and they are dedicated to undergraduate teaching.
