Featured Majors

 Jonathan Alger 
 Jonathan is a junior that declared his economics major his freshman year. In the spring of his sophomore year he declared his math minor. Jonathan’s interests are financial markets pertaining to the mortgage industry and also micro-economic theory. Jonathan completed an internship with Guardhill Financial, a luxury mortgage broker during the month of January 2008. After graduation Jonathan hopes to work in the financial sector with a focus on Hedge Funds and Wealth Management.
 Daniel Buehrens 
  Daniel declared as an economics major during the fall of his freshman year and has accelerated through the curriculum. He also is a double minor in math and political science and is most interested in game theory and econometric modeling with respect to public policy. During his junior year, he struck an interest in studying financial markets. He completed an internship at The Bank of New York Mellon during the summer before his senior year and plans to work in financial markets upon graduation, before attending graduate school for financial economics. His long term goals include working with socially responsible investing and public policy surrounding sustainability.
 Daniel Dimant 
  Dan entered Hartwick undeclared, and after taking a number of Economics courses to fulfill the core liberal arts requirement, he decided he had found his major and declared Economics during the spring of his first year at Hartwick. Soon after he added Business Administration to the mix as a sophomore and is now a double major. Among his many endeavors on the Hartwick campus, he is currently participating in an economic impact study of the Ricky J. Parisian Pit Run in Oneonta. Dan hopes to go straight to Graduate school upon graduating from Hartwick.
 Daniel Parisian 
  Dan entered Hartwick as a declared math major. After taking Market Success and Failure in his Fall Semester and Illegal Behavior in the Spring, Dan knew that Economics was the way he wanted to apply his math ability. He declared economics as his second major during his sophomore year. During the Spring Semester, Dan worked on a directed study with Dr. Kristin Jones and fellow student Eric DesRoberts to examine the economic impact of three local baseball camps on Otsego County. Now in his junior year, he is working on another directed study to examine the economic impact of the Pit Run on the Oneonta community. Dan plans to attend a graduate school and study economics upon graduating from Hartwick.
 Adam Randall 
  Adam is a junior who enrolled at Hartwick as a declared Economics major, and has since added a Business Administration major. He quickly found his niche, while taking econometrics the falls of his freshmen year.  He has been actively involved in the Hartwick community and the Economics department.  Both his frehsmen and sophmore year, Adam presented at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research.  This further motivated him and has increased his interests into Game Theory, Financial Investment and Math Economics. Currently Adam  is a Teaching Assistant for econometrics and tutors business classes. After Hartwick College Adam hopes to attend graduate school and obtain an MBA.
