Men's Soccer

A pair of Hartwick men's soccer players were honored earlier this week as the Mid-American Conference announced its 2009 Academic All-MAC selections.

Hartwick College Director of Athletics Debbie Warren announced Wednesday that head men's soccer coach Ian McIntyre '96 has resigned. McIntyre, who has been the Hawks' leader since 2003, has accepted the head coaching position at Syracuse University.

Hartwick landed a pair of players on the All-Great Lakes Region Team with the selection of junior back Owen Botting and sophomore forward Dan Summers.

The NSCAA announced that the Hartwick men's soccer team was one of 143 men's programs from around the nation posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

Junior Jeremy Vuolo is Hartwick’s starting goalkeeper and team captain for the 2009 campaign. JV will provide regular blog updates throughout the season. Akron came from behind to defeat Hartwick for the second time in eight days on Sunday at Lee Jackson Field in Akron, OH in the Mid-American Conference Championship match.
