The Hartwick College Department of Athletics recognized 19 student-athletes as their team's MVP at Wednesday evening's Athletic Awards Banquet.

Hartwick ended competition at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championship meet on Saturday at Nottingham High School in Syracuse. The Hawks closed the three-day event with 646.50 points, good enough for 7th place out of 17 competing institutions in the state. In the Empire 8, the Hawks finished 4th.

The Hartwick women picked up a win but the men fell short against visiting Alfred University on Saturday at Moyer Pool. The Hawk women's team rolled to a 161-109 triumph over the Saxons while the 'Wick men dropped a 175-125 decision to the three-time defending Empire 8 champs.

The 'Wick swimming and diving teams each came away with a pair of victories on Saturday in western New York in quadrangular meets with Fredonia, Oneonta, and Cortland.
