Nick Nichay begins his first year as Hartwick College assistant men's basketball coach in 2009-10.
Nichay arrives at Hartwick after serving as a manager with the men's basketball program at Division I Rutgers for three years, including a one-year stint as head manager with the Scarlet Knights in 2008-09.
He guided a staff of 17 student managers while gaining on-court experience in team practices and individual workouts with Rutgers' coaches and players. In addition to his three years with the Scarlet Knights, Nichay has worked numerous camps on the east coast, including several at Rutgers, the University of Virginia, and Penn State.
Nichay was a Dean's List student at Rutgers earning his bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in general history this past spring.
