Geological and Environmental Sciences

What is this major? 
Classic Geology Track: Designed for those students that plan to go to graduate school to pursue a career as a professional geologist.
Environmental Geology Track: Designed for those students interested in careers in the hydrological or environmental field or who are considering graduate school.
Secondary Earth Science Teaching Track: Designed for those students interested in secondary education as an Earth Science teacher.

  • Each year geology majors go the Geological Society of America (GSA) Meeting
  • 5-10 field trips per year led by faculty, 7 are overnight, to study geology in the field
  • Collaborative research projects between students and faculty
