Information For:

Hartwick Transition Advisors

Our team of specialized Transition Advisors is available to connect students to the information and programming they need to meet evolving career development goals.

From the first year forward, our advisors encourage students to make intentional career choices--to view career as a lifelong process of professional and personal development that starts with courses and majors and continues in productive pursuits throughout life.

All Transition Advisors share the view that:

  • Career development is a lifelong process of choices and self construction.  Hartwick students’ experiences fit within the broader framework of life choices that will come to define them as contributors in the changing world of their future.
  • Career education is the means through which students build the knowledge and skills necessary for career choices. Transition Advisors suggest career education in various forms including secondary sources (books, online resources, speakers, etc.) and firsthand experiences (disciplinary coursework, job shadowing, volunteering, work on campus, and internships).
