TROY, N.Y. - Rensselaer received goals from three different players in a 3-0 victory over Hartwick College in field hockey action Wednesday afternoon at Harkness Field.
The Red Hawks, now 2-1 overall, took the lead for good 7:52 into the contest as Sara Stylinski posted the game's first tally. Rensselaer kept that 1-0 lead heading into intermission.
Kerri Clark and Sandy Turnbull added markers at 47:28 and 63:27 respectively to give the Red Hawks some extra cushion.
Hartwick goalie Katie Thorpe (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) posted 14 saves in the defeat.
The Hawks, 1-1 on the year, now begin a streak of five consecutive home matches at Wright Stadium starting Saturday as Scranton comes to town. The game begins at 1 p.m.
