ONEONTA, N.Y. - Melissa Demko and Shana Egan each scored first half goals to pace Ramapo to a 2-0 victory over Hartwick College, Saturday afternoon in a Mayor's Cup match-up at Elmore Field.
The Roadrunners, who improved to 3-1 overall, opened the scoring at 13:25 as Demko took a feed from Chrissy Giordano and beat Hawk goalie Ashley Taylor to give Ramapo all it would need. A little less than 14 minutes later at 27:14, Shana Egan broke past the Hartwick defense and gave the Roadrunners an insurance score.
Goalie Jessia DaRold stopped five Hartwick shots en route to the victory. Taylor posted two saves for Hartwick.
The Hawks, now 1-2 overall, will attempt to split the two-game weekend as they host Illinois Wesleyan at Elmore Field Sunday at 10 a.m.
