ONEONTA, N.Y. - Betsy Breaznell (Delmar, N.Y.), Jennifer Lin (Albany, N.Y.), and Lexi Andrus (Binghamton, N.Y.) each posted 6-0, 6-0 singles victories to lead Hartwick to a convincing 9-0 victory over Wells College, Thursday afternoon in women's tennis action.
Hartwick, 2-2 overall, opened by winning all three doubles matches. Breaznell and Lin posted an 8-3 win at one doubles over Kat Kuziura and Ana Riley, while Lauren Aquino (Loudonville, N.Y.) and Andrus teamed to record an 8-1 decision over Kat Abrego and Ali Nolan at second doubles. The Hawks gained a forfeit at the final doubles spot.
In other singles action, Aquino registered a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Nolan at number three, Anne Neely (Milton, Mass.) recorded a 6-3, 6-0 decision at number four. The Hawks won the sixth singles match via forfeit.
The Hawks return to action, Sunday as it hosts Stevens Tech at the Hartwick Tennis Complex. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
