TROY, N.Y. - The Hartwick volleyball team opened the Union College Tournament by dropping a 30-23, 30-20, 30-28 decision to Skidmore, Friday evening.
Christina Evans (Cedar Hills, Utah) posted a team-high 18 kills and added 19 digs in the loss to the Thoroughbreds. Hartwick's all-time kill and dig leader, Abby Cummings (Syracuse, N.Y.) posted seven kills and 26 digs, while Kerry Sisson (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) led the Hawks defensively with 27 digs.
The Hawks, 5-4 overall, were set to play Russell Sage at 8 p.m.
