ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Erica Main's second goal of the game in overtime propelled RIT to a 2-1 victory over visiting Hartwick, Saturday afternoon in women's soccer action.
The Hawks, who fell to 2-6 overall, took the lead as Brittany Pine (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) collected her first goal of the year from Kristen Mellan (Hillsdale, N.Y.) at 28:09 of the first half. The Hartwick advantage lasted until 42:22 of the first half as Main beat Ashley Taylor (Nashua, N.H.) to tie the score at 1-1.
After a scoreless second half, RIT won the contest 2:55 into the extra session as Main took a pass from Kystal Adriaansen and put it in the back of the net. Taylor collected 10 saves in net for Hartwick, five in each period.
Hartwick returns to action Tuesday afternoon as it travels to play Morrisville State. The game is set for a 4 p.m. start.
