ELMIRA, N.Y. - Hartwick won four of six singles matches en route to posting a 6-3 victory over Elmira in women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks, now 3-4 overall, received wins from Betsy Breaznell (Delmar, N.Y.), Jen Lin (Albany, N.Y.), Lexi Andrus (Binghamton, N.Y.), and Kim Post (Nashua, N.H.). Breaznell downed Kim Kellett 6-1, 6-1 at the top of the lineup; Lin posted a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Emily Talbot at number two; Andrus registered the eventual match-winning point for Hartwick with a 6-2, 6-1 win at number five over Dani Oaxaca, while Post downed Aradhna Taneja 7-5, 6-3 at number six.
In doubles, the team of Breaznell and Lin won 8-2 over Talbot and Kellett, while Andrus teamed with Rebecca Sarro (Newburgh, N.Y.) for a convincing 8-1 decision over Taneja and Desiree Calderella.
Hartwick returns to action Sunday morning as it plays Alfred at 10 a.m. and then Keuka on the way back home at 4 p.m.
