SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Kim Post (Nashua, N.H.) registered the lone point for Hartwick as the Hawks dropped an 8-1 decision to Union College in women's tennis action Tuesday.
Post, a freshman, recorded a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Libby Johnson at number six singles. It was her seventh victory in singles competition in her last eight matches.
Hartwick dropped all three doubles matches as Betsy Breaznell (Delmar, N.Y.) and Jennifer Lin (Albany, N.Y.) fell 8-0 at the top doubles; while the teams of Anne Neely (Milton, Mass.) and Lauren Aquino (Loudonville, N.Y.) and Lexi Andrus (Binghamton, N.Y.) and Rebecca Sarro (Newburgh, N.Y.) dropped 8-3 and 8-5 decisions respectively.
In singles action, Lin suffered her first defeat in eight matches at number two singles in a 6-1, 6-1 decision. Breaznell lost 6-3, 6-1 at number one; Neely fell 6-0, 6-0 at number three; Aquino dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision at number four, while Andrus was downed at five singles 6-1, 6-1.
