Wellness Education

Mission

The Office of Wellness Education offers opportunities that will assist the Hartwick College community in attaining wellness as part of a life-long learning process. We understand that true education means engaging students and those from our community through a holistic approach. The primary objectives will be to: foster wellness as an integrated part of the Hartwick community through empowering and engaging the student population to reach their full potential; encourage personal responsibility and responsibility for others through co-curricular programs, peer leader opportunities, and policy development, which help to facilitate risk reduction and support student learning opportunities. Each of these opportunities will help to connect each individual physically, emotionally, spirituality, and intellectually to increase their personal well-being within the Hartwick College community.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. To provide effective programming that will help students in the life-long development of a healthy lifestyle.
  2. To provide information on a personal and community level that will enhance the growth and development of the Hartwick community.
  3. To prepare the Hartwick community to be well informed on issues that will assist them in making responsible decisions related to personal life choices.

The Wellness Education Office at Hartwick College was developed based on the growing needs of our students. Our mission, learning outcomes, and program initiatives have been developed in alignment with the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education, American College Health Association, as well as other prominent resources.  Click here to download a pdf document of the guidelines used.
