BRIDGEPORT, PA. - After posting 24 points in three games, Hartwick's Kirsten Hudson (Wellington, New Zealand) has been named the CWPA's Northern Division player of the week, it was announced by the league office.
Hudson opened the week with a four-goal, three-assist effort as the Hawks outlasted Marist 13-10, Tuesday evening at Moyer Pool. In the first of two games on Saturday, the sophomore tallied two goals and two assists in the 19-5 victory over Harvard at Blodgett Pool. Hudson then tied a school record for assists and points in a single game in Hartwick's 18-10 victory over Brown in the second contest of the day. She matched former All-American Kate Chambers' performance with five goals and eight assists for a 13-point effort against the Bears. On March 12, 2005, Chambers posted her 13-point outing (five goals, eight assists) against Brown in an 18-8 win.
Hartwick, 22-10 overall and ranked 14th in the most recent poll, will return to action Saturday as it travels to Utica College to participate in the CWPA Northern Division Championships. The Hawks, who will be the top seed, will open with Queens College at 10 a.m.
