  April 16, 2008
ONEONTA, N.Y. - Hartwick announced the hiring of Ben Bullock as its new football defensive coordinator, Wednesday afternoon.

Bullock, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., comes to Oneonta following five years of service on the SUNY Brockport coaching staff. During his tenure, he served three years as the Golden Eagles' defensive line coach and added the duties of special teams coordinator prior to the 2007 campaign. Since 2005, he mentored eight all-Atlantic Central Football Conference honorees, three all-region selections and one All-American. Bullock began his coaching career in 2003 at Brockport as s student assistant working with the tight ends and fullbacks. In that year, the Golden Eagles posted a 9-2 record and qualified for the NCAA Division III playoffs. The following season, Bullock was promoted to wide receivers coach, where he coached a pair of all-league honorees, including one first team selection.

"I'm very excited to have Ben join the Hartwick football family," said Hartwick head coach Mark Carr. "He comes highly recommended. Ben is very energetic, very personable, and highly knowledgeable. He is a perfect fit for our program. I look forward to working with him in the coming years."

Bullock earned his bachelor's degree in Earth Science from SUNY Brockport in December, 2003 and is currently completing his master's in Secondary Science from Brockport. In addition to lettering three years in football, he was a three-year starter for the Golden Eagles in lacrosse. In 2004, he served as team captain and was an all-SUNYAC honoree as a midfielder.

Bullock replaces Rob Eggerling, who accepted the defensive coordinator position at NCAA Division II member, St. Anselm College, last month.
