ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Five Hartwick women's lacrosse players were recognized by the Empire 8 Conference, as the league office announced its end of year awards, Thursday.
Jamie Boulton (Camillus, N.Y.) and Kelsey Campbell (Camillus, N.Y.) each were named to the second team, while Katie Thorpe (South Windsor, Conn.) , Briana Crow (Scotia, N.Y.) and Whitney Carroll (North Bennington, Vt.) garnered honorable mention accolades.
Boulton completed her final season with 42 points (25 goals, 17 assists) in 14 games. In her final collegiate outing versus Elmira, she moved into a tie for fourth on Hartwick's all-time assist list with 65 in her career. In 2008, Boulton is tied for seventh in the league rankings with 1.21 assists per game.
Campbell, who completed her career as a four-year all-league honoree, tallied 48 goals and 54 points on the year for the Hawks. With her final performance in the Hawks' last minute loss to Elmira, Sunday, she became the fifth player in the program's history to eclipse the 200-goal barrier. Campbell is currently fourth in the league in goals per game (3.43 gpg) and sixth in points per game (3.86 ppg).
Crow played in 14 contests registering two assists. The freshman dished off both helpers in a 14-13 victory over Alfred on April 5.
Carroll, a defender, completed her season with a goal and an assist, both against Wells College, while Thorpe posted a career-high 17 goals and 21 points in 2008.
Addie Partrick (Central Square, N.Y.) was recognized as Hartwick's Sportswoman of the Year for women's lacrosse.
