Andrew Murphy will step off the playing field and onto the sideline this year as he joins the Hartwick College Football coaching staff as the new offensive line coach.
Murphy recently graduated Hartwick as a member of the class of 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology.
During his time at 'Wick, he was a four-year member of the football team and part of an offensive line which paved the way for a Hawk passing offense that ranked as one of the best in Division III football. In Murphy's junior and senior seniors, he received honorable mention from the Empire 8 Conference.
In 2008, Murphy and his fellow linemen were named D3football.com "Offensive Line of the Week". The line was crucial in helping Hartwick defeat then-nationally ranked St. John Fisher, as the Hawks put up 31 points, scored four touchdowns, and netted 487 total yards.
