Dr. Margaret L. Drugovich earned a Doctor of Management degree from Case Western Reserve University, where she also served as a Fellow of the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations. She received her master's degree in medical sociology from Brown University and her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut.
A scholar-practitioner, Dr. Drugovich has presented her research on transformational leadership and consensus-making structures in higher education at annual international meetings of the Academy of Management and the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action. Most recently, she presented at the Council of Independent Colleges' Annual President’s Meeting, responding to proposals for the reformation of the federal Pell Grant program and serving as a panelist in a session exploring new business models for small colleges.
Before assuming her role as President of Hartwick College in July 2008, she served Ohio Wesleyan University as Vice President for Strategic Communications and University Enrollment. Before joining Ohio Wesleyan in 1998, Dr. Drugovich spent nine years at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, serving in several administrative roles. Earlier in her career, she served as a researcher in healthcare policy at the Brown University Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research.
Dr. Drugovich has served on various nonprofit boards and community organizations. She currently serves on the Alumni Advisory Council for the Doctor of Management Program at Case Western Reserve University and as a member, Board of Trustees, Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities.
